DREHTAINER was founded 1974 in Hamburg as a company for container repair. Since 1982, the company has focussed on the development and production of special containers for military and nuclear technology as well as industrial applications. In the early 2000s, the company moved to its present location in Valluhn, on the state border between Mecklenburg-West Pomerania and Schleswig Holstein.
In the field of military technology, and apart from protected/unprotected infrastructure, our product range includes solutions for protecting field camps and command posts, and also the most varied container types for special applications.
A special feature of our containers is their unique modular system concept, which permits coupling the containers to obtain smaller space units but also enables large buildings to be erected. Regardless of whether for single containers or for complete buildings, the protection level can be matched to individual requirements (tested and certified to STANAG 2280 or 4569) simply by integration and/or adaptation.
When it comes to the implementation of protection concepts, the company's extensive competence covers the entire product range. Countless tests in military technical centers and also in comparable facilities and institutes of our international customers have proved DREHTAINER's outstanding performance. Based on this expertise, DREHTAINER containers have saved the lives of military personnel working or living in them from direct rocket hits in various countries.
During the past years, command post solutions in particular have become an important product division for DREHTAINER. Because of their particular use, these containers place special demands in terms of protection. Apart from protecting against ballistic and blast threats, radiation shielding plays a decisive role. Based on the continuous development of new products and permanently increasing customer demands, DREHTAINER has advanced to become a leading supplier of mobile command post solutions.
Meanwhile, also civilian organisations and authorities as well as industrial customers have benefited from the know-how obtained from military technology. Amongst other applications, protected modular buildings are also used as administrative buildings, e.g. in (petro)chemical plants or refineries as well as office or accommodation buildings in conflict regions.
Applications for nuclear technology, whether lifting equipment, shielded containers or special containers, are designed and manufactured to customer specifications and the relevant conditions of the German Nuclear Safety Standards Commission (KTA).
DREHTAINER's product range is rounded off with special containers for transporting particularly bulky goods, but also for non-military solutions.
New DREHTAINER developments are tested in our own testing facility. The facility includes a firing lane and a container test stand. In close cooperation with classification societies and technical support organisations, the container test stand is also used to qualify the designs of other manufacturers.
During the past decades, DREHTAINER's creative team and the highly motivated design department have proved that even the most demanding customer requirements can be fulfilled by means of extraordinary solutions.
