The container has played an increasingly important role in the German Armed Forces' 67+ year history for more than 30 years now - first solely as a logistical transport and storage container, then primarily as an accommodation container in the numerous foreign deployments of the army. Starting with the NATO missions in the Balkans, the demand grew for robust containers that could withstand the climatic conditions of the countries in which they were deployed and the strain of multiple changes of contingent.
