NUCLEAR
Protection for nuclear applications.
Radioactive residues and waste are produced during the operation and, above all, the dismantling of nuclear facilities, which must be transported and stored with particular care and under the most stringent protective conditions. DREHTAINER, as a manufacturer of special containers, has made it its objective to cater for these special needs of the nuclear industry. DREHTAINER has been developing, designing, manufacturing and supplying special equipment or complete project-related solutions for over 20 years now. In addition to containers of various standardised designs, the product portfolio also includes shielding and other special containers as well as lifting equipment.
IP2 hazardous goods packaging
These hazardous goods containers with a BAM-approved quality assurance system are available in various designs. All variants have lashing points on the side walls (OHT/BOX) or on the base (OAC), forklift pockets for handling by forklift trucks as well as a stainless steel base tray (OHT/BOX). Further special equipment as well as the quantity and position of the lashing points can be planned individually.
Special containers and shielding
In addition to transport and shielding packaging for large elements, such as reactor pressure vessels, DREHTAINER also manufactures transport and storage containers for control rods and other highly active assemblies. Wall thicknesses from 4 mm to 350 mm are possible, depending on requirements. Unit weights of up to 165 t have been realised so far.
Lifting equipment and special solutions
In addition to ISO containers and special containers, our product portfolio for the nuclear industry also covers the corresponding handling technology. Whether 20' spreaders, three-arm grippers for MOSAIK containers or lifting and tilting devices for CASTOR containers - DREHTAINER designs and manufactures the most suitable equipment. Extraordinary solutions are also developed, e.g. for the handling and transport of large elements during the dismantling of nuclear facilities.
